The perfect formula:

Jeremiah 6:16:

This is what the Lord says:

“Stop at the crossroads and look around.

Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it.

Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls.

But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’

How often do we come to a point in our lives where nothing makes sense? Where it seems that our favorite points of comfort are being ripped away from us and we're forced to make a change even when we don't want to? We're at that crossroads standing there, asking God what's next, and we choose the road that we want regardless of his answer...As if we know best for ourselves. Sometimes I don't think we even stop to find out what his answer is before we go down the road that seemingly makes the most sense to us.

But he calls us to stop what we're doing, in the middle of this chaos and the middle of our discomfort and anxiety and simply ask him what's next. Ask him to direct us down the old, godly way. And then he commands us to walk forward with HIM, in HIS plan, not our own. And then, he promises that we will find rest. True, Godly rest.

He's given us the perfect formula for how to live our lives.

The perfect formula for our discomfort and the perfect formula for change.

He's given us the perfect formula for peace.

He's laid it out so simply, yet we always make it so complicated.

PERFECTION! no words to add but words to take in and heed! easier to say than to always do.
