Beautiful Girl

She's a beautiful girl with a beautiful smile,
A tender spirit and a laugh worth while.
But what she hides deep inside
is what eats her alive,
this pain and this heart full of fear.

Her memory is filled with times of the past,
Times to herself, where she laughed and she laughed.
Her joy is no longer hers, they've taken it away.
Beautiful girl, don't you see they stole your soul?
they stole the very wind beneath your sail.

She's so broken down and longing for more.
With her eyes full of tears, she cries and she cries.
Won't someone love her for her,
and not for how she acts on the outside?

As she stands inside the ashes,
she wonders what else can fall apart.
She's given in to this life of pain,
resigned to this sadness in her heart.
Stand up! Move on! This isn't the life for you!
Beautiful girl, what happened to your dreams?
have they taken those too?

What more can they do?
What more can they say?
As you let them have your all,
can you ever get away?

You've given them the best of you,
what else do they have to take?
Beautiful girl, take back your life
before you've wasted yourself away.

Run straight towards the light!
Seize the future in front of you,
don't waste time with the past.
Regret nothing, start over,
you have your one life left!

And Beautiful girl, please don't forget
that you were born for such a time as this.
